Lake Buena Vista

It's some people's fantasy to live in a world made by Walt Disney and that's just what Disney employees do who exclusively reside at Lake Buena Vista. The city is near Orlando in Florida and is the location for Walt Disney World. The Disney empire dominates the area and makes it a very special place to visit. There is nightlife, sports, and enough Disney magic to keep any kid happy. A visit here offers something for the whole family.

The city is the perfect base for the many attractions on offer. The actual lake is situated near the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. This 18-hole course has a lovely setting and winds through pine forests, lakes and canals. It has a clubhouse, restaurant and pro shop and there are convenient refreshments carts on the actual tee.

Disney World has world famous tourist spots such as the Magic Kingdom, the Disney-MGM studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom theme parks. There are also two water parks, six golf courses and a race car track. The Epcot Center is another attraction that inspired the world on its opening. Its mission is to showcase the culture and technological invention of various countries across the world in sections known as International Pavilions.

Downtown Disney is a complex of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. There is a soda fountain, a chocolate shop and lively nightclubs. Well known restaurants include Planet Hollywood and the Hard Rock Café and there is stunning entertainment from the Cirque du Soleil.

The Disney's Wide World of Sports complex is another reason to visit Lake Buena Vista. The complex contains eight sporting venues, including a baseball stadium, track and field facilities, a cross-country course and tennis courts. There are also fields that are used for field hockey, soccer, football and rugby. The indoor arena hosts wrestling matches, hockey, volleyball and basketball.

Celebration Florida is an unusual residential community, conceived by the Disney Corporation. The distinctive architecture includes 2,500 homes and is served by various shops. There is a nostalgic elegance to the design and it's a welcome addition to the real estate of Lake Buena Vista.

Away from Disney, there is another franchise that features in Lake Buena Vista. Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede has a venue here, offering a Wild West Show with horses and buffalo followed by a tasty barbecued meal and good ole country music. This dinner theatre only has a few outlets in the country.
